Guaranteed Employment
In general
All unemployed persons should be offered employment in a 'dole' job on a part-time basis such that their 'dole' payment would be equivalent to normal wages at the minimum wage.
Dole jobs might include:
- Providing security and assistance on public transport.
- Street security.
- Teaching aids.
- Hospital or nursing home aids.
- Litter collection.
- Historic building restoration.
- Environmental works.
- Providing entertainment via various performances.
Persons unsuitable for any dole job would receive unemployment benefits, which would be less than the dole job payment.
These jobs are not intended to provide training for 'real' jobs - they are 'real' jobs. Citizens could spend their entire working lives in one of these jobs if they so desired. Persons employed in a dole job could work in other part-time roles for a limited period.
